Views expressed reflect those of journal author & producer, Andy Deemer, and in no way reflect the opinions of Troma Entertainment or Poultrygeist Productions, LLC.
Deep in the bowels of the Troma offices, a secret journal was recently found, detailing the corpse-ridden path to cinematic glory. The writings told, in minuscule and scattered detail, the story of a cursed production: pain, incompetence, destruction, deceit, and even rare moments of brilliance. The name, scrawled on the inside-cover, gave us warning of the nuggets within: Andy Deemer, Producer.
For those of us who worked on the film, these notes will bring back visions of the strain and the glory; the uphill battle that continues through to the upcoming release. For those who managed to avoid the call of duty, they offer a glimpse of life on Poultrygeist.
In this weekly feature, we’ll bring you highlights from Andy’s belated and bellicose blog, carrying us from the early days of preproduction, all the way to the last day of filming on this chicken-zombie masterpiece. Four-score PAs, a cast of hundreds, and only one shower: this is the story of the making of Poultrygeist.
