Oh, Bloody Disgusting, how we love you. And how we missed your review of Poultrygeist, I’ll never know! But here at Tromaville, every so often, something manages to slip through the cracks.
Review from Joris Westerdaal
Bad acting, cheap special effects, offensive humour, bad singing, dysfunctional nudity, zombie-chickens and Lloyd Kaufman wearing a thong! All of these points would mean major shortcomings in any other movie, but this is a Troma movie… so if you don’t like Troma, you’d best stop reading right about now and keep yourself far away from this piece of cinematic garbage, mucus and poo. Troma once again indulges itself in craptaculair movie making and all aforementioned “shortcomings” are fully represented as highlights in this latest effort by the long running studio. And since I have no sense of taste what-so-ever; I loved it!!
Most of the stuff Troma releases is unwatchable crap that no other studio would ever release. Movies with titles like “Killer Condom” and “A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell” are among their never ending list of films the New York based studio has released and while the titles are funny the movies itself are terrible for most of the time. One thing is for sure though, when Troma head honcho Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger, Terror Firmer) is in the director’s chair, you know the end result will be way better than any of these so called Troma “pick ups”. Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead being no exception either. This actually happens to be one of the best they ever released.
…cutting out some spoilers, some criticisms, some more spoilers, but then he goes all like: “gloriously gory… a no holds barred bloodbath… trashy horror comedy… one crazy and unique movie.”
Thanks, Joris!!! Lloydie loves you too!!!!
