The NY Post revels in Tribeca’s woes over Poultrygeist

From the only newspaper that reports the true news, today’s NY Post:

May 6, 2008 — TROMA mogul Lloyd Kaufman got revenge against the Tribeca Film Festival this week by dressing as a chicken and picketing the Village East Cinema. Kaufman was costumed as Colonel Cluck, a character from “Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead,” which opens Friday at the downtown theater. The film fest, which has been renting the Village East for weeks, forced the theater to stop airing Troma’s trailers and take down all “Poultrygeist” posters. Plus, says Kaufman, “The Tri-Beak-a Film Festival has consistently ignored Troma’s 35-year history and has never shown a Troma film.” The result of Kaufman’s feathered feat? Tickets for Friday’s shows are sold out.
