POULTRYGEIST TOPS WEEKEND-PER-SCREEN BOX OFFICE, BEATS SPEED RACER, HELD OVER FOR ANOTHER WEEK AT VILLAGE EAST CINEMAS!
Troma’s Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead clucked up the box office this weekend with the second-highest per-screen average ticket sales, doubling the per-screen averages of major studio release Speed Racer! Due to the overwhelming success and sold-out weekend screenings, Poultrygeist will be held over (easy) for another egg-cellent week!
Here’s what New York Critics are saying!
“Directed with finger-licking gusto by Lloyd Kaufman…it is just about as perfect as a film predicated on the joys of projectile vomiting and explosive diarrhea can be…”
– Nathan Lee, The New York Times
“A landmark achievement…a wicked “South Park” style satire of everything from campus protests to corporate power…an underground hit!”
Kyle Smith, The New York Post
“Totally crass and often hilarious! A Critic’s Pick!”
– New York Magazine
“Kaufman’s latest, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, may be his most ambitious yet!”
-Sean O’Neil, The Onion AV Club
“Like indie film? I mean UBER INDIE, gore core/camp horror with weird sex scenes and freaky laughs to boot? You should be watching Troma films!”
– Nik Carter, 92.3 KROCK Radio
And don’t forget, Poultrygeist will be making its West Coast debut at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 in Los Angeles on June 13th!
