After years of contemplation, six months of pre-production, and six weeks of location work, we finally broke ground and completed our second day of shooting “Poultrygeist: Attack of the Chicken Zombies”.
The protesters are beginning to form and wreak havoc on the resting place of the Native Americans…now the home of The American Chicken Bunker. Food is being served and Denny has finally decided to hire Arbie as the beautiful counter girl. Wendy and Micki are ready to stomp the grounds of the disgusting abomination that has formed to serve chicken to the ignorant masses.
Behind the scenes is a story in and of itself, an unedited “real world”. As for the living conditions, to give you an idea of how dedicated and excited we are to be here…fifty people living together in one house, learning what means to share; from one full bathroom to underwear (except for, our brilliant writer, Gabe Friedman’s underwear as he has yet to take his off since he got here). We are making it work. It has proven to be an incredibly, challenging experience..and we are all still smiling. To see how a real movie is made, spend one night in the “Poultrygeist: Attack of the Chicken Zombies” production house and you will develop the utmost respect, even more than you already had, for what it is to ‘make your own damn movie’.
We have, without a doubt, the most dedicated and talented behind the scenes folks, from costumes to special FX. Their brilliant creations are making this movie come to life. They are the definition of extreme so be prepared to be blown away with never before seen art.
As for the end of the day, it is a tradition to gather in the production office to belt out the beautiful tune “Build Me Up Buttercup” since our own personal Buttercup breaks us down on the set (for the best)…don’t ask…you tend to do strange things in Tromaville when you realize it’s 3AM, you are on your 93rd cup of coffee, you are still going and you are ready for more!
Stayed tuned as we are creating new traditions in the awesome world we’ve created here in Buffalo, NY. This is art history in the making!
